I craft architectural speaker stands designed to complement the world’s finest monitors. Operating from my workshop in Barry, I focus on a limited-run, hand-finished approach providing a unique, British-made alternative for select independent Hi-Fi stockists.

I believe audio equipment should be as much a piece of furniture as it is a performance upgrade. By combining the honesty of birch plywood with industrial finishing, I create stands that provide a rock-solid foundation for your monitors. Every pair is hand-finished in my Barry workshop, ensuring that the character of the grain and the quality of the edge meet the standards of a serious listening room..

01
I built Ply-Fi to give high-end monitors the foundation they deserve. My stands are designed to provide an architectural alternative to industrial metal supports offering a refined aesthetic that fits into a home environment without sacrificing the height and positioning required for critical listening.
02
My philosophy is simple: I make a good, honest product. I believe in a balance between performance and aesthetics, creating bench-made furniture that represents genuine value. By working on a small, focused scale, I can justify the use of high-quality materials and intensive hand-finishing, providing a specialist product where the cost is reflected entirely in the craftsmanship.

03
I don't compromise on the core. I use premium, European premium birch Plywood and industrial grade laminates sourced from local specialists in Cardiff and Barry. These materials are chosen for their natural damping qualities and their durability, ensuring the stands look and perform as they should for years to come.

The signature Ply-Fi edge is achieved through a meticulous four stage process. I hand sand every edge through the grades before sealing and applying three separate coats of Osmo Polyx-Oil. This creates a tactile, satin finish that you simply cannot achieve with mass-production techniques.

I’ve always believed that independent hi-fi shops bring a level of knowledge and service that you simply cannot find online. Because of that, I am focusing on a retail-first model. I want to support the shops that support the industry (pun intended). While I haven't officially launched the first batch yet, I am currently in conversations with select UK stockists to establish showroom displays. Once Batch 01 is ready for the floor, you will find a curated list of my retail partners right here. Are you an independent retailer interested in stocking
Ply-Fi?

Every pair of Ply-Fi stands follows a journey from raw birch sheets to a hand-finished product. I believe in total transparency of the process from the first cut to the final coat of Osmo.I am currently documenting the production of Batch 01 in real-time. Follow the journey from the bench to the showroom on Instagram for daily updates, behind-the-scenes builds, and early access to future runs.

Whether you're a listener interested in a future batch, an independent retailer looking for a showroom pair, or a fellow maker wanting to collaborate—I’d love to hear from you.I manage my own production and aim to reply within 48 hours.Cheers,
Rob
